"The virus was the amazing grace for the planet- Virus is making us do things"

"Human Disaster + Economic Disaster- possibly the best thing that can happen for equality."

Some important advice Li gave in her podcast I have noted below. during this whole pandemic her view on the virus was something I found really inspiring and interesting. Instead of always looking at the bad she opens up ways we can grow and move forward as a community. Featured below I have noted important quotes from the podcast. 

  • Power of the Amateur: everything is up for renewal- invent everything from scratch.

  • Micro Situation: Staying in creative commune- congregate with creative people in the evening to exchange ideas.

  • Slow Rhythm - removed from society, relieved from tasks, feelings of abandon of the daily business.

  • Not a happy situation, something so new in what you experience.

  • Take care of ourselves and loved ones. - interesting virus.

What happens to fast fashion?

  • Wont go back to normal so fast: non accessibility of textiles

  • Long cycle of sparseness -

  • Heavy boots for grounding

  • Knits- In a time of crisis people love knits

  • Craving tactility-  completely reset the way we produce and consume/ dress.

What happens to the industry of fashion

  • Many stores will need to be consolidated, more space- less merchandise, more contained and compacted, more easy to choose and more attractive

  • Designers will not have to make extra drops.

  • Opportunity for change

  • Importance of craft and crafted textiles

  • Advocate for making

  • Trends of next knitwear
