PLAYTYPE 9: LABELS OF LOVE

To collect materials for this Play type I used labels from different types of drinks. Instead of creating my own material I used recycled Tulle as a base for the labels. This play type explored a different take on recycled products as instead of creating my own sequins I instead used left over sequins I had hidden away from my Summer elective, a technique I have named "Pimping labels". I used sequins and seed beads to secure the labels onto the tulle.

MATERIALS: Recycled tulle, Cola label, Aqua Love label, Big M Label, Tonic water label, Lipton label, coloured sequins and seed beads.

TECHNIQUES - Securing sequins, embellishing trash, hand cutting labels.

I was pleased with how this play type was executed however I realised I was going against the issue around using PVC sequins. All though I believe this play type has an eye catching aesthetic, I will not be pursuing this further. Instead I will ensure I am just using waste to embellish and pursuing the issue around designing for cyclability.
