With a focus on embellishment, this project aims to intercept discarded waste materials and refashion them into a new, interesting and sustainable resource. In effect, creating a renewed cycle of life for this waste. By exploring such a concept and retrieving common items that are frequently thrown out, I will begin to play a role in the war on waste. Upcycling this once foregone trash into treasure will result in handcrafted, unique and one of kind materials, that emphasises and displays the power of re-using and re-designing. Ultimately, this will culminate in the transformation of what was once waste, into beads, sequins and embellishments - a stepping stone to achieving a more sustainable, circular model of industry production.

1. Finding new ways to recycle and work with existing waste- design for recycling at the outset. This will be uncovered through using and transforming recovered waste materials into new materials, adding value and quality to the goods we already have.

2.  Another aim of this project is to expand my material knowledge by using materials I have never used before and really pushing my creativity and design skills on ways I can use these materials to create something beautiful. e.g waste.

3. Improving my embellishment and embroidery skills through refinement.

4. Not being a perfectionist and instead go with the flow when it comes to the exploration process.

5. Being selective on the way I document my work and not writing heaps of jargon as well as gaining a greater understanding of how I practice.

 6. Keeping up to date weekly through organisation and time management.
